Run Your Own Race @ SCM 2008

The 3rd time running the 42.195km. Was pacing Rachel (hope she is recovering well from all the muscle cramps) had lotsa fun today.



Its definately not your average jog in the park, yet its not something normal people can't do. from my 1st race in 2003 till 2008. the number of participant rise from below 10K up to more than 50K. the sport itself has its charm. What i always like about marathon is that the persistent, courage, determination within each finisher who tries to finish the race. it takes alot of courage to just join and it takes a lot of determination to keep yourself moving forward. Throughout the race temptation from Deep Heat to Shelter/Shades to Bus-stop and sitting down. And the moment you stop moving, you stop the race because it take a lot more effort to bring you out of that comfort zone and back into momentum, hence the persistent you need to press on.

usually the filter zone is 25-35km which this year is at the ECP. that is where all the evil thoughts come in. but once you passed that mark chances are you will be seen at the finishing line.

35-42km i like to call this this the friendly zone, people are friendly and trying to motivate each other.most of the ppl gives & seeks strength and motivation here.

for those who have not ran it give it a try, its definately an experience.

Express Train-s-Port.

After going back home to collect my passport which i jolly well forgot to bring along with me (how smart), i reached Bugis and met Ed around 1.30pm to catch the Singapore-Johore Express to JB. damn it was raining heavily.

(This is the ticket. Looking damn old-school. i remember holding on to one of those when i was a kid.)

Reached City Square and learnt that they are having a Book Fair. hence we took a look and soon i got myself 4 books; Haruki Murakami's "Norwegian Wood" the mandarin translated edition, 2 of 几米 collections, 1 of 恩左 collection. Felt delighted.

After we came back, i had to rush down to City hall for dinner and for some reason the train refuse to open the door at City hall station and it went bonker in between City hall and Raffles Place tunnel around 8.30pm the wait was about 10-15mins before it resume service and i had to get off at Raffles Place to take a train to get over to City Hall. How unlucky...

Weekend at the River.

were at the regatta race, no doubt we didn't went thru but i felt that it was an experience.
the experience of the love of a sport, the atmosphere was overwhelming...

i'm looking forward for the next race to come... and i believe its time to start training really hard... URGH!!!

Buzzy Week

been a really pack week for me and yet thank goodness i did manage to find some time to rest. had done some really nice shopping, Went JB and bought some nice clothing. Back in SG, i finally gotten my a new phone and i'm so so happy. also i manage to bought some nice shoes.

some changes. trying some new look, i hope this is good.

Uniform Collection

attended terence's uniform theme birthday party. was rather a successful party where more than 40% of the people were dressed to the theme. we had some pilot, military personnel, general, martial artists, sailor, etc.

Brithday boy was wearing a very nice napoleon general costume. very elaborate, very nice.

me? i'm dress as a mechanical technician and my drink for the night - screwdriver (aka vodka+orange)

The Weekend Trapped...

quite an eventful weekend... on saturday during my lesson in skool i had to attend to nature calling (aka Pang Sai aka Sh*t.) so i went to the toilet to notice that the toilet roll was out. hence i check out the handicapped toilet and notice there were some extra toilet roll. as i was about to leave the toilet with the toilet roll, i notice the door knot was missing!!! i'm trapped in the toilet leaving a keyhole to the outside world!!! wtf...

after giving the skool admin a call they sent in the maintainence guy to the rescue and got the door knot fixed. how exciting the saturday got.
